MY DOG SIGHS
The first time I met My Dog Sighs was in London where he was performing with his friend Losdave in a back alley for a group show. When I told him I came from Paris to meet him, he stopped painting, asked me if I had a notebook and painted one of his famous eyes on its cover. That’s how his is, a super nice and thoughtful guy.
His style has multiple facets : he can spray paint gigantic and profound eyes, finger paint the backround of his loving Hug Men, but also paint the most precise and poetic faces on abandoned food cans. No wonder his last shows – Vertical Gallery (Chicago), Upfest Gallery (Bristol), Paradigm Gallery (Philadelphia) – were sold out in a few hours.
My Dog Sigh’s studio is in his home which is warm and welcoming. The whole house is filled with art by fellow artists he admires such as Know Hope, Snub 23, Herakut, Tank Petrol, Losdave, Lonac, Johnman, Julian Kimmings and more. He is a family man, his kitchen is his domain where he creates recipes for his kids. « Dragon’s blood » is their favourite one, a special pasta dish with pink sauce only made with veggies.
He listens to vinyl records in his studio, and the title of his pieces are always several words from songs’ lyrics.
